Live music is back on stage at The Mad Monkfish! For those who can't make it to the Jazz Baroness Room, Monkfish now streams live all of its performances on their Facebook page. The house band plays a set and then invites guests to sit in on this late-night instrumental jam.

Daniel Pappas - Pianist and Composer

Daniel Pappas is a Massachusetts-based pianist and composer celebrated for his versatility and artistry in jazz and contemporary music. A graduate of Westfield State University, Daniel has built a multifaceted career that spans live performance, studio work, and music education.

Currently, he serves as the pianist for Jerry Bergonzi's Quartet, performing weekly at their residency at The Lilypad in Cambridge, MA. His playing, deeply influenced by jazz greats such as Mulgrew Miller, Kenny Kirkland, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea, combines technical brilliance with soulful expressiveness.

In addition to his work with Bergonzi, Daniel has recorded piano tracks for television's The Masked Singer, showcasing his adaptability across genres. His professional journey includes performing on cruise ships, where he honed his skills in diverse musical settings.

Daniel is also active in music education, accompanying students at the Longy School of Music and serving as a substitute teacher at the New England Conservatory. His dedication to teaching reflects his passion for fostering the next generation of musicians.

With a career that seamlessly blends performance, recording, and education, Daniel Pappas continues to leave his mark on the jazz and broader musical landscapes.
