ABOUT US
The Mad Monkfish is a Pan-Asian restaurant and live jazz venue in Central Square, Cambridge, located between MIT and Harvard University. Our menu brings together sushi, Thai cuisine, ramen, and other Asian specialties, served in a lively setting for students, professors, professionals, visitors, and neighbors from Cambridge and Boston.
Originally opened as Thelonious Monkfish, the restaurant later became The Mad Monkfish out of respect for the Monk Estate. Music remains an important part of who we are. Wednesday through Sunday, the Jazz Baroness Room presents outstanding jazz musicians from Boston and beyond in an intimate setting just steps from the dining room.
Whether you come for dinner, sushi, cocktails, or live jazz, our goal is to make The Mad Monkfish a distinctive Central Square destination where food and music belong together.

Nothing warms the palate like an explosion of flavor or the heart like a burst of the song! Chef Ginger loves to jam on Asian culinary themes! Her menu reflects both gustatory tradition and a sense of play and innovation.
Live jazz, sushi, and our personal interpretation of Japanese, Thai, Chinese + Vietnamese cuisines are the mediums through which we aim to disperse kindness + loving service.
