Jonathan Bean, tenor saxophone

Jon Bean is a jazz saxophonist native to New England who has been performing in the Boston and New York City areas (as well as others) for the better part of twenty years since moving to Boston in 2005.  While studying jazz at UMass Amherst and at the New England Conservatory of Music, he studied with renowned teachers such as Lynn Klock, Adam Kolker, Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, Rakalam Bob Moses, John McNeil, and Danilo Perez.  Jon has shared the stage with players such as David Liebman, Chris Cheek, Antonio Sanchez, Hal Crook, Esperanza Spaulding, Lionel Louke, and Lake Street Dive.  He has been a member of the Mark Zaleski Band since 2007, was co-founder or both The Brighton Beat and Planet Radio, and has played at such venues as Smalls (NYC), The Blue Note (NYC), The Side Door (Old Lyme, CT), and other jazz clubs in the US.  Jon's group has a nice blend of post-bop sensibilities as well as a modern sound that melds different genres of music.
