5/18 Jazz Vocal Jam Session feat Linnea Dolf (3pm-6pm)
May 18, 2025 03:00 PM until May 18, 2025 06:00 PM
Live music is back on stage at The Mad Monkfish! For those who can't make it to the Jazz Baroness Room, Monkfish now streams live all of its performances on their Facebook page.
The Jazz Vocal Jam Session takes place the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month from 3pm-6pm. A featured vocalist will start each session before inviting other vocalists to join the house band. There will be a physical sign-up sheet which will be first come, first serve.
We appreciate if you purchase something to help the restaurant out for bringing all of this great jazz to us!
This week the featured singer will be Linnea Dolf.
Linnea Dolf wants everyone to know that she is from a very small town called Mount Shasta nestled at the top of California. When she says Northern California, she means it….not LA, not San Francisco….north, people, north! Growing up, Linnea took every performance opportunity she could get and has a strong background of 10 years in musical theatre. In addition, she was the first freshman in 13 years to be accepted into her high school’s jazz choir. Linnea has always been interested in vocal jazz. It started with a Boston Pops record featuring Nancy Wilson, singing ‘It Don’t Mean a Thing’ when she was quite small, but the fascination with scatting and actually singing jazz outside of a choir didn’t start until she got to Berklee in the spring of 2024. Now it’s not uncommon for her to be waltzing past Symphony Hall working out a bebop head. She’s currently in her 3rd semester studying vocal performance, and has recently been awarded the Sylvia M. Zunz Endowed Scholarship for her efforts and interest in the Great American Songbook.
