April 19, 2026 03:00 PM until April 19, 2026 06:00 PM
Live music is back on stage at The Mad Monkfish! For those who can't make it to the Jazz Baroness Room, Monkfish now streams live all of its performances on their Facebook page.
The Jazz Vocal Jam Session takes place the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month from 3pm-6pm. A featured vocalist will start each session before inviting other vocalists to join the house band. There will be a physical sign-up sheet which will be first come, first serve.
We appreciate if you purchase something to help the restaurant out for bringing all of this great jazz to us!
This week the featured singer will be David McIntosh.
David McIntosh is a Boston-based vocalist with a low, velvet baritone. A longtime student of the American Songbook, he approaches standards as stories first, inspired by singers like Johnny Hartman, Nat King Cole, Sinatra, and Bing Crosby, with a bit of grit borrowed from Tom Waits and Johnny Cash.
His musical roots include classical training and professional a cappella performance, including singing with Yale’s Whiffenpoofs and the New York–based Ghostlight Chamber Chorus. Along the way, he has worked as a crew coach, museum guide, caterer, ballroom dance instructor, private investigator, boat captain, and luxury travel planner. These days, he is a nurse practitioner in a Boston emergency department, an experience that has sharpened his instinct for fragile, human moments.
His repertoire bridges classic standards, French chanson, and lesser-sung material that feels ready to be rediscovered. Whether interpreting a timeless ballad or bringing something unexpected into the room, his aim is simple: to connect the lyric to something real.
