3/1 Jazz Vocal Jam Session feat Rachel Ambaye (3pm-6pm)

March 01, 2026 03:00 PM until March 01, 2026 06:00 PM

Live music is back on stage at The Mad Monkfish! For those who can't make it to the Jazz Baroness Room, Monkfish now streams live all of its performances on their Facebook page

The Jazz Vocal Jam Session takes place the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month from 3pm-6pm. A featured vocalist will start each session before inviting other vocalists to join the house band. There will be a physical sign-up sheet which will be first come, first serve.

We appreciate if you purchase something to help the restaurant out for bringing all of this great jazz to us!

This week the featured singer will be Rachel Ambaye.

Rachel Ambaye is a jazz vocalist, composer, bandleader, and educator
from South Burlington, Vermont. A recent graduate from the University of
Vermont, Rachel completed degrees in both Jazz Studies and Global
Studies, and minored in French. She is passionate about sound, the
memories it awakens, and its connection to culture. Using both her
studies and personal experiences to inform the music she creates and
performs, Rachel cherishes how this art form allows for further
education, connection, and exploration of African American culture—an
expansive culture that has been integral to the foundations of this
country and to jazz.

In June of 2025, Rachel released her debut record, “Clockwise Motion”, a
collection of original compositions and re-imagined standards that speak
to the heart of her personal growth. She is currently pursuing her
Master of Music in Jazz Performance at New England Conservatory, and
will be representing New England Conservatory through performance at the
International Panama Jazz Festival in January of 2026.
