February 01, 2026 03:00 PM until February 01, 2026 06:00 PM

Live music is back on stage at The Mad Monkfish! For those who can't make it to the Jazz Baroness Room, Monkfish now streams live all of its performances on their Facebook page

The Jazz Vocal Jam Session takes place the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month from 3pm-6pm. A featured vocalist will start each session before inviting other vocalists to join the house band. There will be a physical sign-up sheet which will be first come, first serve.

We appreciate if you purchase something to help the restaurant out for bringing all of this great jazz to us!

This week the featured singer will be Bogata Orban Ducos.

Bogi Orbán-Ducos is a jazz vocalist and songwriter based in Boston. Originally from Budapest, Hungary, she studied classical piano for most of her life before discovering jazz. She began her undergraduate studies as a classical piano major at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and later transitioned into a Jazz Voice Performance degree midway through her program.

During her time in Montreal, she performed regularly at Upstairs Jazz Bar, received a Downbeat Student Award as a member of a small vocal ensemble, and began writing and performing her own original music. She recently relocated to Boston, where she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Jazz Vocal Performance at the New England Conservatory.

Her musical approach centers on deeply expressive storytelling, and a full, resonant voice drawing inspiration from artists such as Dianne Reeves, Shirley Horn, Lizz Wright, Montreal’s own Ranee Lee, as well as jazz legends Sarah Vaughan and Carmen McRae.
