The Liberty Quartet plays original compostions and arrangements that celebrate Ron Reid’s extensive experience with caribbean folk, dance and theatre, steel band music and jazz explorations. Music that is introspective yet danceble.

ARTIST BIOS:
Ron Reid
Ron Reid s a bassist, steel drummer and composer/arranger along with the role of Professor of
Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College. He teaches arranging, ensemble and
a caribbean music history. The Trinidad-born musician has recorded and performed with a long
list of calypso and soca artists as well as composed music for Trinidad television.He has
performed with Carmen Lundy, Randy Weston and Dave Samuels’ Carribean Jazz Project
among many stellar jazz artists. He leads the Liberty Quartet as well as The Precious Metals
Project and Sunsteel in which he plays steel drums. His sideman-performing projects include
Caribbo with Harvey Wirth and Andy Narell and the Imagine Orchestra.
Domas Zeromskas
Domas is a brilliant pianist from Lithuania and a graduate of Berklee College who is currently
studying at the New England Conservatory. He has performed with Jacques Schwarz-Bart,
Gregory Tardy, Farayi Malek, Naledi Masilo, Tom Scott.
Sam Batista
Panamanian saxophonist Samuel Batista mixes folkloric rhythms with jazz. Graduated from
Berklee, Batista has taught at The New England Conservatory and performed at venues such
as Montreal Jazz Festival, Kriol Jazz Festival and Carnegie Hall. His album, Panama United,
debuted at the Panama Jazz Festival. In 2018, Batista toured with singer Ruben Blades
while teaching at the Danilo Perez Foundation. He is currently working on his upcoming
album Rising to Love.
Hector Falu Guzman
Héctor L. Falu Guzmán is a drummer, composer, and aspiring cultural worker based in
Boston, MA and Puerto Rico. Born in San Juan and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico, he’s
currently in his senior year at Berklee College of Music. He has performed with Greg
Tardy, Jonathan Suazo, Jacques-Bart and Edmar Colon.
